What is Strekdrop?

Strekdrop is exactly what you remember: a stretchable licorice with the familiar taste and texture. It's back on the Dutch market thanks to Felko Nederland, who has breathed new life into this nostalgic candy.

How did he get back?

The return of Strekdrop wasn't easy: It took almost two years of work to reintroduce it. Small test batches were created to experiment with the flavor and texture, ensuring it tasted just like the old days. Because there was no longer a frame of reference (you couldn't buy the old Strekdrop anymore), it was primarily a matter of tuning in to memory, feeling, and trial and error.

What's different – ​​and what stays the same?

Taste

  • Just like in the old days: recognizable and familiar, almost identical to the classic liquorice.
  • Possibly different: minor differences due to modern production and recipe optimization.

Texture / stretchability

  • Just like before: soft and stretchy as you are used to.
  • Possibly different: the stretchability has been improved even further for extra “stretch”.

Packaging / Brand

  • Just like in the old days: the look & feel evokes nostalgia.
  • Possibly different: now under its own, recognisable name Strekdrop .

The question was already there: Many people hoped that the licorice would one day return – and now it has.
